LA VILLAINE was born of our founder, Mathilde Le Villain, after she reassessed the meaning of her creativity and life values.
La Villaine is the feminine of her family name and her child’s nickname. It also refers to “The Ugly Duckling” (“Le Vilain Petit Canard” in French).
As she was growing up, she felt different from the other ducklings until it became clear that her creative mind led her to think and do things differently from others. From her realisation, she embraced her individuality and cultivated her talents, developing gracefully into who she is now, a flourishing designer and artist.
